New Model Army
From their beginnings on, the New Model
Army (named after the English revolutionary
army of Oliver Cromwell) were respected
for their working class-ethics and uncompromised
views on politics which never bowed
to anything. With the interesting mixture
of melodic punk, frequent acoustic parts,
occasional folk and the charismatic
voice of frontman Justin Sullivan, they
were able to gather a loyal 30yr following,
and especially their concerts are events
which shouldn´t be missed.

The
Quireboys
It
seems hard to believe that it’s
been nearly ten years since The Quireboys
made their comeback. With a sound that
harks back to the ‘70s heyday
of The Faces, Stones and Mott The Hoople
these boys have remained true to their
roots ever since they first hit the
boards back in 1984. Their mission statement
remains the same too, namely to keep
the spirit of good time, bar room, rock
‘n’ roll music alive and
kicking in to the twenty first century.
The
bands line-up may have changed over
the years, but the two remaining original
members and primary songwriters Spike
and Guy ‘Griff’ Griffin
still remain steadfast in their belief
that the world still needs a healthy
dose of good time rock ‘n’
roll music every now and again. Perhaps
now more so than ever. I challenge you
to go to a Quireboys show and not have
a good time.

Aynt
Skynyrd
The UK's Official 9 Piece Tribute
to the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd
"Aynt
Skynyrd have a philosophy on recreating
the songs of the greatest rock 'n'
roll band the world has ever seen,
and it's a simle ethos....Don't play
it.....Feel it. This has been out
of years of seeing many local bands
play other bands songs quite adequately
and in some instances very skilfully,
but with no soul or feeling.
This would be criminal if applied
to the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd"

Seven Little Sisters are a band based in Nottingham, UK
who have returned after a while in
hibernation.The
loss of all their equipment at the
turn of the millennium brought an
untimely end to a band who were destined
for big things. Having toured all
around Europe for a number of years
and with the US beckoning they were
forced to call it a day.
2010
has brought them all back together
with a new album in the making and
tours already coming in for the end
of the year. They are set to play their
own blend of Bluegrass, Cajun, Irish
and in-yer-face Punk to whoever will
listen (and to those who are forced
to!)

Rammlied
(Rammstein UK)
RAMMLIED
were formed in 2009 from the ashes
of a previous Rammstein tribute band.
Doug (Guitar), Kamil (Guitar), Das
Oktopus (Drums) and Lee (Bass) remained
dedicated to providing the most authentic
Rammstein tribute experience that
they could and so a long process of
auditions took place to select the
right singer (Egghead) and keyboard
player (Steve) to complete the line
up. RAMMLIED strive for total accuracy
in terms of Rammstein’s sound
and have adopted the band’s
Industrial stage look as seen on the
live Volkerball DVD and the current
LIFAD tour. They are now on the road
again and are taking bookings for
2011, but be quick as the diary is
filling up fast.

Cornerstone (from
Austria)
Austria
may be known as the classical music
capital of the world, but make no
mistake,
Cornerstone is here to rock. Patricia
Hillinger (Vocals, Guitar), Michael
Wachelhofer
(Bass, Keyboards, Vocals), Steve Wachelhofer
(Guitar, Vocals) and Florian Zipser
(Drums, Percussion) signed a record
deal with US-label ATOM Records and
have released
their debut "Head Over Heels"
in the same year.
|
 |
Following
the release, the band was introduced
to more than one hundred magazines and
radio stations worldwide. Beautiful
melodies, big guitars, a melodic bass
and lyrics about the small and big topics
of this world quickly inspired the public,
particularly in the U.S.A. and the United
Kingdom, where the band introduced "Head
Over Heels" at some tours, including
gigs with John Waite (Bad English, The
Babys), Dennis Stratton (Iron Maiden),
Ted Poley (Danger Danger) and Tommy
Denander (Santana, Pink, Toto, ...).

Rock band emerging as one of the most
exciting musical forces in the Midlands.

in the Midlands and have growing support
across the UK.
Adrenalin
fuelled live shows are remembered for
incredible guitar and drum performances,

The music is built on soaring, passionate
guitar lines, thundering solid bass,
and incredible, intricate drumming.
Toxic Federation have been compared
to many world-class bands, spanning
from the present, back to the 70's and
the birth of hard rock, but are increasingly
being known to have a style that doesn't
quite follow anyone.

Mick
Rutherford Band
The
ultimate British Power Trio. The best
undiscovered band in the world..
Once again this band is the most impressive
three piece blues band. Mick Rutherford
would win the vocal section, if we
had one, he can sing in many syles,
and he does. Carl Axon shows what
a flying V should sound like and Paul
Westmoreland drums as if his life
depended on it. But, we shouldnt be
surprised with ex members of Alexis
Korner, Dr and the Medics and Bluesology
on board. www.stillgigging.com

Smokin'
Gun
The scene is
set. There is a great atmosphere at
any smokin gun concert. It is clear
from the moment you see the stage
set that there is something a little
bit special going to happen, while
the music before the band takes you
on a trip down memory lane, whether
it be recent gigs or years gone by,
those great memories will come flooding
back for you to relive again.
The
gleaming ferarri red awsome 9 piece
double bass drum kit stands alone
with a menacing look. It almost looks
as if its floating, as the uplighters
around the base cast a warm glow upwards
through the shallow mist that covers
the stage, and the smokin gun logo
stands proud across the back of the
stage. The tension builds as the intro
plays, The smoke bellows out and the
lights increase to enhance the dramatic
intro, the bass frequencies rumble
and in a flash of light the band appears
on stage and the show begins.

Black
Pig Border Morris
Named
after the ship of the infamous Captain
Pugwash, Black Pig Border was formed
in 1986 in Eastwood on the Nottinghamshire
and Derby border. Our founder members
were a group of like minded dancers
and musicians who had tried other
forms of Morris dancing and were looking
for something a little different.
From this small group of people, Black
Pig has evolved over the years to
what you see today. We are a mixed
group of both male and female dancers
and musicians. We have performed all
over England at a wide variety of
events, ranging from pub tours through
fetes and festivals. We have danced
in California and Germany and also
appeared in an episode of Peak Practice.

Faith
Healer
Faithealer is a 5 piece band which consisits
of Ryan - Drums, Dan - Bass, Lewis -
rhythm, Ben - Lead Guitar and Mac -
Vocals.
Ben, Dan and Ryan are currently also
playing with another band called Junction
and Mac was the ex-Stranglehold vocalist
- and Lewis is the professional wind-up
merchant. As a band we made a decision,
not to do the everday songs that most
bands play because it becomes a bit
predictable, so with the talent the
band has it would have been a shame
not to push them to the limit, even
though we play the likes of ACDC and
Zeppelin, we do also Audioslave, Velvet
Revolver, Wolfmother, Budgie and Iron
Maiden plus many more. These are the
more high energy songs that have given
us a good reputation around the Midlands
when doing festivals, rallies and pubs
so keep a look out for Faithealer around
your locality!! |

Dan
Diamond
Dan Diamond brings his own unique style
and entertainment when he strikes up
on any stage. Shunning offers from agents
and bands alike over the years he prefers
to play for `Drunken Fun` and quickly
pulls in the audience to a satirical
performance of well known songs.
Spanning Rock to Disco, all thrashed
out on an acoustic guitar, with a powerful
voice, once seen, never forgotten.
A rare opportunity to enjoy music in
its purest form with fun and attitude. |
